Dear Mr. Brissenden;

I write to you on behalf of my parents, William (Bruce) and Marion Luke, both Snowbird Association members,
concerning the plight of their son and my brother, Billy and the proposed closure of his home, Huronia
Regional Centre in Orillia, Ontario.

Billy, 45 years old, has been severally developmentally disabled since 1 year of age and has been a resident
at Huronia for 42 years.  The care that Billy receives at Huronia is unequalled anywhere else in this Province.
 There are hundreds of other residents of similar age, and similar disability along with all their family
members facing the same dilemma.  As you may appreciate, this concern is an undaunting and unsettling
experience for my parents, now into their senior years.

The families have banned together to fight the Province on this closure and have even organized their own
website at www.savehuroniacenter.com .  However, I am asking for your assistance if at all possible.  I have
written a very emotional from the heart story regarding my brother Billy (copy attached) that has stirred some
very positive remarks and feedback, in particular from the Province.  Would it be possible to have my story
published as an article or a story written about our group from the website.  Your magazine would be an
invaluable tool for our cause and my parents way to contribute through their association.

I thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide.  I can be reached at 535 Scugog Line 4,
Port Perry, ON  L9L 1Z7   tel. 905-706-4001  or my parents at 512 Century Drive, Winterhaven, FL  33881   tel.

Your truly,

Daniel W. Luke
