has extensive experience and skilled caregivers. Nowhere in the community living can you get the care,
the love, the professional excellence of Doctors, Dentists, Nurses, on-site infirmary, physio programs,
personalized programs for each resident and social workers daily support systems.
Huronai Regional Centre caretakers take time to help the residents at Christmas to make and give
presents to their parents, to celebrate birthday parties, that they all enjoy. At HRC many are taken out
camping and community activities such as bowling, picnics, barbecues and shopping. Many annual events
for over 30 years still continue. All the people enjoy and look forward to the Santa Clause Parade and the
Summer Festival.
The staff are very friendly and very caring for each one there. One family writes ' when Kathy is in the
hospital and is terrified to be their, the Huronia Regional Centres caretakers sit with her 24 hours a day, 7
days a week. When they see Kathy in the hospital is missing her favourite stuff toy ducky that when their
shift is over, the staff took the time to go back to HRC, pickup Kathy's s favorite ducky back to the hospital.
When my mother cannot make it up to the hospital HRC Staff call her several times through the day to give
her an update. One day the staff noticed something not quite right with Kathy’s facial expression, that
they called her mother, so Kathy can hear her voice and be instantly cheered. Kathy has so many friends
up at HRC. Each time we visit Kathy so many of the staff come over to say hi to Kathy - and Kathy who
cannot talk, has a big smile on her face.'
