On January 8th, 2005, the Huronia Helpers meeting for families of  HRC was held in Orillia.  Over  160 members attended. Quest speakers for this meeting spoke in support of keeping HRC open.   Michael Prue,MPP Beaches-East York toured the HRC facilites and commented on the excellence of the home, the staff, the programs and well-being of HRC.  Mr. Garfield Dunlop, MPP of Simcoe North addressed the meeting on his continued support and efforts to keep HRC one as well as the Mayor of Orillia spoke.
