contact various residences or housing providers to ask questions about the suitability
of their residence or program, for our relatives.

1.  Can I visit a group home to get an idea of what to expect?

2.  How long from the time a resident is slated to be moved to the time
she is actually placed?

3.  What qualifications do you ask of your staff?

4.  What is the staff/resident ratio?

5.  What will happen when my relative needs to see a doctor/dentist or
needs a haircut?

6.  What will happen to the residents that are currently on your
waiting list?

7. How much does it cost to support a resident in community living?

8.  What is community living’s philosophy? Will my sister be expected
to contribute to household duties?

9.  Will my relative have her own counselor who will be responsible for
her, or are all staff equally responsible?

10. Will Community Living provide her clothing?

12. Are there any times in a staff’s work shift when staff are
unavailable to assist residents?

13. Has your residence had to deal with any bed bug infestations?

14. Does your agency own a vehicle to transport tenants to
appointments?

15. How do staff address conflicts amongst different residents, when
these arise?

16. Can residents get assistance with bathing, toileting, and dressing?

17. Can staff administer and monitor a resident’s medications?

18. Can staff manage a resident’s money?

19.  What are the visitor/guest hours?

20.  Are there times when guests are in the residence and staff are not
present?
